Club Rules.
Number 1. Flying times.
Internal Combustion:
Monday to Friday IC 09:00 - 18:00 (apart from Wednesdays 9am - 8pm)
Saturday 11:00am - 15:00
Bank Holidays 12.00 – 17.00
Bank Holiday weekends no Sunday Flying.
Sunday NO IC permitted
Electric:
Monday - Friday 09:00 - Dusk
Saturday 09:00 - Dusk
Sunday 12:00 – Dusk quite electric planes only.

Number 1A. Flying is only permitted when 2 or more members are on site.
Number 2. It is the responsibility of individual members to ensure the field gate and pedestrian gate are locked and securely fastened at all times. Particular attention shall be taken by the last person leaving the field to ensure the gates are securely fastened, and the electric fence is erected and properly connected and switched on, whether livestock is in the field or not.
Number 3. All vehicles shall be parked in the designated area or left in the lay-by outside the field. Vehicles may be taken into the pits area for loading/unloading and then immediately remove to the designated parking area. If the vehicle is not parked in accordance with these rules, then, in case of an accident with a small unmanned vehicle (SUV), you or your vehicle may not be insured.
Number 4. The pits shall be restricted to the area between the netting and the hedge.
Number 5. Pedestrians shall keep to the hedge line between the car park and the hedge.
Number 6. Each flying session shall have an active safety coordinator. The safety coordinator shall be the first person to arrive at the site, until such times as the club safety officer or a committee member arrives on site.
Number 7. No frequency, other than 2.4 MHz & 900 MHz, will be approved for use.
Number 8. No member shall fly unless BMFA insurance. CAA registration and an operator ID and flyer are held and are in compliance with current CAA and UK government regulations.
Number 9. No pilot may fly unsupervised unless they hold a minimum of the BMFA A certificate.
Number 10. A new member must meet a committee member at the flying site prior to flying, to point out the no-fly zones, parking areas, electric fence operation etc.and to assess their level of flying ability.
Number 11. No pilot shall fly until they have assessed it is safe to do so.
Number 12. Helicopters shall not be hovered over the runway whilst fixed wing aircraft are being flown.
Number 13. An IC model shall not be flown unless it carries a valid sound test sticker. Sound tests are particular to the airframe /engine/ propeller combination. Any alterations will require revalidation. The sound test will exclude gas turbines in line with current BMFA advice. I/C helicopters will be permitted to test fly prior to sound testing to enable correct setup/trimming but must be sound tested once this has been completed.
Number 14. I/C models must be started where practicable using the starting tables and a suitable retaining device. All models must be started/ armed with the model facing the hedge.
Number 15. Models must not be taxied between pits and flight lines.
Number 16. Before entering onto the runway, pilots must declare their intention to fly with those pilots already in the air, and ensure they get an acknowledgement from the pilots flying.
Number 17. Clear warnings must be given for take-off / landing / dead stick / overshoot / medium to low-speed low-level passes and touch and go’s, etc.
Number 18. There shall be no high-speed passes over the runway. Medium to high speed-low level passes should be no closer than on a line with the electric fence.
Number 19. No flying may take place in the No-Fly Zones. Pilots seen entering a No-Fly Zone must be alerted by the observer. The safety coordinator of the day shall be informed and take any necessary advisory action.
Number 20. Aerobatics with IC aircraft and all types of 3D flying should only be flown to the left side of our field as viewed from the pits.
Number 21. Members will be responsible for the control and safety of any accompanying guests, children or animals. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Number 22. No litter shall be left on the site, and all debris must be located and cleared away after a breakage.
Number 23. No other activities other than flying of model aircraft may be carried out at the site by members or guests.
Number 24. A club member may invite host another BMFA member, as a guest, to fly at the field. It is the responsibility of the host to inspect the guest's proof of BMFA insurance, and to verify that a minimum of an 'A' certificate & a CAA operator & pilot registration is held. The host shall ensure that the guest upholds the club & CAA rules. The guest must be able to produce proof of the above
to a committee member upon request. The host shall accompany the guest at all times. A guest may fly on as many occasions as agreed with the current committee.
Number 25. A non BMFA visitor my undertake a trial flight under the direct control of a competent person via a 'buddy box' system, and strictly in accordance with the club, BMFA & CAA rules.
Number 26. All incidents must be reported to a club committee member as soon as possible following the event
